Frankie Wood-Black, Ph.D., M.B.A., R.E.M., (AAAS Fellow and American Chemical Society Fellow) Northern Oklahoma College, and Principal of Sophic Pursuits, Inc. Dr. Wood-Black is the Division Chair, Engineering, Physical Science, and Process Technology for Northern Oklahoma College (NOC). Her Division supports the pre-engineering and technology students that will be entering Oklahoma’s energy workforce (Wind and Petrochemical). Prior to coming to NOC, she worked in the petroleum and chemical industry for over 25 years in technical management; laboratory operations; environmental science and compliance; sustainability; and professional development. She served as a Senior Air Professional for an environmental consulting firm focusing on environmental air compliance for refining and natural gas operations. She is a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Cheese Society, American Physical Society, Physics Teachers Association, AAAS, and the American Sidesaddle Association. She is an American Chemical Society and AAAS Fellow.
